In addition to selling beautiful, on-trend, expertly crafted products that are cost competitive with mass produced, options, every Sseko product is making a direct impact in the lives of women in countries where simply being a girl is an occupational hazard. 

After living and working as a journalist in Uganda, Sseko Co-Founder Liz Bohannon learned that the greatest thing we can do to move towards ending global extreme poverty and gender injustice is create economic and educational opportunity for marginalized woman. 

So, she set down her journalism dreams and along with her co-founder Ben Bohannon, built a best in class, vertically integrated manufacturing company that employs the smartest high school graduates in the country so that they can earn money to continue on to university and become leaders in their country and our world. 

Now, we’re revolutionizing a century old direct sales model to give it a major facelift for our social selling, conscious consumer. We’re using this model to “democratize” impact entrepreneurs by putting our brand, products and impact model into the hands of women across the country and then providing them with the support, education and community they need to start, run and scale their own impact enterprises. These women are becoming know in their community as ethical fashion style experts and a bridge to a life of purpose, passion, social impact and sisterhood.
